"Reminescenes of Pioneer Events" by Albert L. Brock as sent to Russell Thorp, July 15, 1939
Brock provides his intepretation of Johnson County War events preceding the Invasion. Albert L. Brock (1857-1946) arrived in Buffalo in 1884 with his brothers and purchased a ranch ten miles south of Buffalo. After selling his original ranch, Brock purchased two other ranches, one near EK Mountain and one northeast of Buffalo, and worked them simultaneously. In Buffalo, Brock was president of the Powder River Company, established the first store in Kaycee, was a county commissioner, and a state representative.
